Viper 202

WINGSPAN: 76 inches FUSELAGE LENGTH: 76 inches
WING AREA: 1140 square inches
WEIGHT: 10.5 lbs.          POWER: 1.45  2-Stroke

The exciting new Viper 202 is basically a wide bodied variation of the very successful II Meter Viper.  Incorporating fixed landing gear and a sport scale appearance.  The side view is that of a stretched Giles 202.

The ALL BALSA VIPER 202 is the latest development in our ARF series of Competition Pattern models.  The VIPER 202 is designed for the latest F3-A Aerobatic Schedules.  It meets the requirements of the serious competitor seeking to get away from the usual fiberglass fuselage without surrendering the advantages of recent developments in aerobatic design and aircraft specifications.  We have shown that a balsa fuselage can be lighter than fiberglass and have greater rigidity.  The kit contains an accurately framed balsa and ply fuselage with open tunnel for the pipe and removable canopy for access to fuel tank and radio equipment.  All the holes for the plug-in wing tube, alignment pins and retract linkages are pre-drilled in the fuselage sides.  The wing skins are attached to the foam core with expanding polystyrene adhesive.  The finely sanded wings and stab have the control surfaces ready for hinging.  The cut-out for the stab is machined in the balsa and ply sides resulting in a considerable saving in time consuming assembly and alignment.  The kit includes a fiberglass cowl, sturdy aluminum gear and large clear canopy.  This really is an Almost Ready to Cover kit that can get you into the air very quickly and also into the winners circle.

a Carbon Fiber firewall and a Carl Mueller wrap around
pipe. Pictures taken 08-28-2002
The estimated finish weight will be under 10.5 pounds.
