Plot

The sequel to the enormous hit Scream, it appears that there is a copycat killer on the loose, and that they were inspired by the movie Stab, which was a movie based on the Woodsboro murders that happened in in the original.

Review

With Scream being such a big hit it was bound to spark a sequel, and of course it did.  As with most sequels it is inevitable that it will not compare to the original by a long shot, but it is a pretty good movie.  The movie starts out at the premier of Stab, a movie that is based on the events of the first Scream.  It appears that the movie has inspired a copycat killer.

Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell, once again seems to be the prime target of the murders.  Neve once again gives a convincing performance.  She sticks with the always on guard tactics that made her character so convincing in the original.

Courteney Cox returns as the bitchy Gale Weathers.  Courteney seems to have cranked the bitch knob way past PMS for her part in the sequel.  I liked how eventually the tables turn on her character and she ends up on the other side of the media.

Along with Neve and Courteney, David Arquette returns to his role as Dewy.  But this time he makes Dewy come across as a kind of creepy person.  I didn't really care much for that.

So with good acting, and a good story line, I would say that Scream 2 is a decent sequel to an amazing movie, and is worth checking out.

Gore

Nothing compared to the original, all we get are some bloody stabbings, and a few bullet holes, hardly impressive.
