Review

Having liked Stuart Gordon's previous work, I thought I would give King of Ants a try.  Going into this movie, I was expecting it to be a horror movie, but it really isn't.  It is actually more of a crime movie, but since I liked it, I'm going to write a review for it.

The movie revolves around Sean Crawley, who is played by Chris L. McKenna.  Chris does an amazing job in this role.  He hits all of his emotional points in the movie.  He is also a very good transitional actor, he is able to change the character's moods very well.  George Wendt also gives a fine performance as the charter of Duke.  He brings a great satiric vision and presence to the movie.

Stuart Gordon does a great job directing King of the Ants.  He knows how to use lighting to make certain scenes stand out, and memorable.  Stuart does a great job with building up the intensity of the scene, even if it leads to nothing.  He kept me paying attention to lots of details.

So, overall, I really liked King of the Ants.  I was just hoping it was going to be a horror film.  I didn't know that it was a crime type movie. So if you are in the mood for something that isn't horror, but you still want a bloody, and good movie, pick up King of the Ants.

Gore

There is a pretty decent amount of gore in King of the Ants.  We get an awesome gash in the head, a lot of golf club whacking, and a really cool decapitation.
