Plot

Rose Red is one of the most dangerous haunted houses on earth.  But it has been lying dormant for more than ten years and has become a "dead cell."  But Joyce Reardon are going in to do a study on it and try to wake it up.

Review

Every once and awhile there is a Stephen King mini-series, on ABC.  And I always look forward to them.  With classics like; It, The Stand, and Salem's Lot, who could go wrong.  Not to say that Rose Red is a failure, more like it is flawed.  Simply Put: It isn't the greatest.

The acting is not particularly great.  And the directing feels to be that of a novice. Having not caught it when it had originally aired I had to rent this 4 1/2 hour movie.  I was expecting a lot more.   The plot is decent, but the story just goes on and on.

This is a good movie just not that good. Defiantly worth watching if you are a die hard Stephen King fan though.

Gore

Considering that it is a made for TV film there is not much gore.  Just a bloody fridge and some cut off fingers.  No big whoop.
