The final chapter in the popular Scream trilogy.  The movie uses the basic rules of a trilogy.

Review

With what is said to be the final scream movie, we get a pretty decent slasher film.  We get secrets from the past, and some pretty cool death scenes.

Neve Campbell once again returns to her role as Sidney Prescott, but this time she is a little different.  She isn't even in the movie very much until about halfway through.  When she finally does show up she isn't the same Sid that I have grown to like in the previous two installments.  I felt like I was being ripped off.  Neve did a great job, don't get me wrong, she just didn't have that same scared little girl quality that she had in the other two films.  It's like they wanted to make her into a kick ass woman for the final chapter.

Once again, Courteney Cox returns to play Gale Weathers.  But once again it seems like something is missing in her performance as well.  It almost seems that she used up all of her inner "bitch" in the other two movies.  Her aggressiveness has been toned down.  I guess that it would have been ok, if they didn't try to make her seem like a human.  I miss the old Gale.

Gore

About the same as the second installment.

The Goodies

Rules of a Trilogy

Body Count:

9

  1. You got a killer who's going to be superhuman, stabbing him won't work, shooting him won't work.  Basically in the third one you've got to cryogenically freeze his head, decapitate him, or blow him up.
  2. Anyone, including the main character can die.
  3. The past will come back to bite you in the ass.  Whatever you think you know about the past, forget it.  The past is not at rest.

Nudity

A brief woman's ass shot through foggy shower glass

Arsenal

Knife

Fire Poker

Golf Club

Gun
