This is the perfect example of a mediocre slasher movie. I say that
because it is terribly, terribly average. It gets very boring to
watch, fairly fast. First of all they had to make it another holiday
slasher movie. They couldn't make an original slasher movie, so it
is like they just picked a holiday that hasn't been used as much as the
others. They could have at least picked one that has never been
used.
One of the biggest mistakes that this movie makes is that it
practically comes out and tells you who the killer is within the first
five minutes of the movie. So where is the mystery? I think
that they should have made the first five minutes of the movie into the
last five minutes, it would have made the movie much more enjoyable to
watch if I didn't know who the killer was and what their motive was.
The acting is decent, nothing extravagant. The characters are not
very layered, and are all basically there just to be killed. They
are not that likeable. The directing is very straight forward, and
the soundtrack is pretty good.
So there you have it, another terribly average, post
Scream, slasher movie. Nothing to get too
excited over. Be careful when checking out this movie, and don't
expect too much. |
