| Cybertown has to be the coolest chat site I have ever been to! It's totally family friendly and has the greatest people there too! It's got a 2D java chat and a 3D chat for the same areas. So you can simply read the chat and participate that way, or go into the vrml version of each world and walk around with an avatar body. Unlike other virtual worlds, where you have no choice, if your graphics card can't handle it then you are just out of luck and can't go there. I can do both, but usually you will find me in the 2D java version because its easier for me to jump from world to world that way. In Cybertown you
receive some Cybertown Cash (cc's) just for logging in. You can also
earn extra cc's by having a community job. You can be a Club Deputy,
Club Owner, Block Deputy, Block Leader, Neighborhood Deputy, Neighborhood
Leader, Colony Deputy, Colony Leader, ect. There's too many to name
them all. Each position has different responsibilities and you can
work your way up in your Colony or get specialized jobs at the many
different places in Cybertown. You can also get special reward Titles
according to your length of membership and a good record. There are many interesting areas to visit in Cybertown. I like to hang out in the Flea Market. That's a place where you can use your cc's to buy and sell virtual items. I like to collect star related objects. I have a very nice collection of furniture, jewelry, pets and art. The objects are made by Cybertown citizens who upload them to The Mall and sell them for Cybertown Cash (cc). It is a lot of fun to go to The Mall during 'drops', that is when the Mall Deputies stock each store with new items. It is best to be there early because new items sell out fast!
The first time you enter Cybertown you will be at The Plaza. It's the 'meet and greet' area of Cybertown. Newcomers usually start out as Visitors with limited access to where they can chat. In The Plaza you will find many people who will help you learn all about Cybertown and its many activities. Once you join you get a free 30 day trial and the ability to personalize your avatar with one from either the Cybertown site itself, from the many avatar sites on the net, or even upload your own creation. As a member you can move into one of the many Colonies available, such as Sci-Fi, Entertainment, Games, Virtual Worlds, Cyberhood, Inner Realms, The Campus, 9th Dimension, Adventure and Hi-Tek. Each Colony has many Neighborhoods, and each one of those has several Blocks that are related in subject to it. So it is easy to find the perfect home that fits your interests. There are a wide range of houses you can buy once you pick where you want to live. Some are more expensive than others. So you will have to earn cc's with a job, create items to sell or resell items you bought, if you are interested in owning one of them. Once you get your house you can start to decorate it with the furniture and art that you can buy at The Mall or from people's backpacks. The Flea Market is the best place for backpack buying and reselling, there is also a Black Market, and many people sell from Clubs. As a citizen you will get up to 5 clubs of your own which you can set up as a store or a meeting place for your friends or for running a topic related club. Another way to get cc's or prizes is to enter the many different contests available throughout Cybertown.
