This page shows a Samurai SPUA on 5 leaf YJ springs. I stayed SPUA to avoid various issues with lift such as legality in my state (Massachusetts), driveline angle complexities and keeping the center of gravity as low as possible for stability reasons.
When I first did the YJ swap, the truck (an 88.5) had a hardtop body with rust issues. I was rolling on 30x9.5x15 Bridgestone Dueler MTs and chrome wheels with 3.75" backspacing. I was using Trail Tough missing links front and rear and the Trail Tough YJ swap setup.  This setup moves the front axle an inch forward, which made clearance problems worse under flex with this small amount of lift. You can see the truck being ramped in this picture. Flex is limited by clearance.
This setup worked well on trail, as shown in the pictures below. There was rubbing under compression, but not enough to damage the tires or the body. It was really annoying, though!
Since the body was rusty, I decided to sawzall myself some more clearance. I cut out a lot of the inner fender wells in front and also chopped off ragged sheet metal around the opening.  This allowed me to move the Zukboys flares up and forward about an inch or two. You can see they now cover the front sidemarker light.  This extra clearance also got me a couple more inches on the ramp.
This extra clearance encouraged me to slap on a set of 31x10.5x15 tires on 2" backspace rims. I need to note that the 30s are really tall 30s and the 31s are not too tall. There's barely 1/2" of height difference between the two tires, but 1" more width.  Here's how it looked at that point. Clearance continuned to be a problem and was worse in the front because of the extra track width.
