Manhattan Circumnavigation Saturday Aug 12th 2006

It was first on my top 5 paddles I've wanted to do.  Perfect weather and great friends.  This trip was just too good.

Some great photos  http://www.mofridlich.com/gallery/album18 - easiest viewing is to select "slideshow" on upper right.

Susanita has posted her nicely done blog on the day, and as a bonus has Susan Williams' trip reports on her site too! The Purple Mirage

See  this slide show http://photoshow.comcast.net/watch/Ir4Zn5BA
a 15-20 minute slide show of the Sunday Circumnavigation paddle done by Jeff Lusk of Lewes De.

For the map we used see Going Coastal

I'm not sure if my photos add much to the above, but here's a few.

Steve briefs us to stay together before setting off

So we immediately ignored him and set off in 2 groups.

Susan with New York to her port.

Laura showing her best Greenland form.

It was a magical day

Shannon with Jersey City in the back ground

Heading down to the financial district, nothing was said, but something is missing

We pulled into Battery Park

where we rested and regrouped.

Jack Gilliam with his Baidarka

Susanita and the group with the Statue of Liberty

and then around the tip of the island as a group.

we waited for the ferries to pass

There's actually a helicopter in this picture

The Brooklyn Bridge.  There was just a little fun stuff here.
