Scholarship Information        Application



Helpful Hints for your entry:

*          The written word is not the only format.  Consider artwork, video, photo/slideshow, song, poetry, art, and other formats.

*          If you write an essay it should be between 400 and 750 words.

*          Submit early but no later than July 31  (no late applications accepted).

Judging is Based on:

*          Effort, content, style

*          Creativity and originality

*          Community involvement

Previous winners are not excluded from the award

The Scholarship Committee is elected from among DSD Family Ties members.  Three committee members will be the sole and final judges of the award recipients and the award amounts.  These members will not have children or spouses as eligible applicants.

The DSD Scholarship Fund has been set up to provide assistance to those who exhibit an aptitude for academic achievement, desire for self improvement, involvement in community and creative communications ability. 

The scholarship funds are generated through donations, and fund raisers throughout the year. Donations to the fund are tax deductible and may be made to The DSD Scholarship Fund, c/o Nancy Daniels, Treasurer , 10 Mary Rd. Eastham, MA 02642.  It is a great way to carry on the spirit of scholarship by helping deserving candidates advance their education.

To be eligible the candidates must be attending an accredited college, university, or graduate school and must be able to confirm academic and social good standing.

The winners will be announced  in September at the Annual DSD Memorial Golf Tournament, in the DSD Family Ties Newsletter, and the DSD Family Ties Winners web page.  Individual winners will also be notified by e-mail or US mail.

Total awards for 2015 will total $5000.
